Located in Harrow, Blenheim Suite provides specialist cancer care closer to home for patients across North West London and surrounding areas, including Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

Initial consultation

Your journey will usually begin with a consultation with an appropriate specialist. They will discuss your diagnosis or concerns, review your medical history and explain any further investigations or treatment options that may be recommended.
You'll also have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss what happens next.

Diagnostics and assessment

If further investigations are needed, you can access a range of diagnostic services at The Clementine Churchill Hospital, including advanced imaging and specialist assessments.
Your results will help our clinical team understand your diagnosis and determine the most appropriate next steps in your care.

Multidisciplinary review and treatment planning

Where appropriate, your case will be reviewed by a multidisciplinary team (MDT), bringing together specialists involved in your care.
Based on your diagnosis, results and individual circumstances, your consultant will discuss the recommended treatment plan with you and answer any questions you may have before treatment begins.

Treatment and support

Your treatment will depend on your individual diagnosis and may involve systemic anti-cancer therapies, surgery or other specialist treatments where clinically appropriate.
Throughout your care, you'll have access to specialist clinical support, including clinical nurse specialist (CNS) support where appropriate, helping you understand your treatment and navigate your care.

Follow-up and recovery

Following treatment, your clinical team will continue to review your progress and advise you on the next steps in your care. This may include follow-up appointments, further investigations and access to appropriate recovery and support services. 

Every patient's treatment plan is tailored to their individual diagnosis, overall health and personal circumstances. Your consultant will discuss all appropriate treatment options with you and recommend the approach best suited to your needs.

Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy uses anti-cancer medicines to destroy cancer cells, slow their growth or reduce the risk of cancer returning.

Treatment takes place within our spacious, open-plan chemotherapy bays, designed to provide a comfortable and welcoming environment throughout your care.

Immunotherapy

Immunotherapy works by helping your immune system recognise and attack cancer cells more effectively.

Your consultant will discuss whether immunotherapy is suitable as part of your treatment plan.

Targeted Therapies

Targeted therapies are designed to attack specific characteristics of cancer cells while limiting damage to healthy tissue.

These treatments may be used on their own or alongside other cancer therapies depending on your diagnosis.

Hormone Therapy

Some cancers rely on hormones to grow. Hormone therapy works by blocking or reducing these hormones to slow or stop cancer growth.

Your consultant will advise whether hormone therapy forms part of your personalised treatment plan.

Cancer Surgery

Where surgery is recommended, our experienced consultants provide access to a range of advanced surgical procedures, supported by modern operating theatres and enhanced clinical care.

Your Clinical Nurse Specialist

• Support communication between you and your clinical team
• Liaise with your consultant, GP and wider multidisciplinary team

Your oncology nursing team

Our specialist oncology nurses work closely with your consultant and wider multidisciplinary team throughout your treatment.

They provide clinical care, monitor your treatment and help you manage side effects, while providing information and reassurance along the way. Our nursing team is also supported by healthcare assistants across our inpatient and chemotherapy services.

Together, the team is committed to providing compassionate, personalised care that considers both your clinical needs and your overall wellbeing.

Our experienced oncology team provides specialist care across a range of cancer types. Patients are referred to the appropriate oncologist following their diagnosis, based on their individual clinical needs and the type of cancer being treated.

Do I need a GP referral?

In many cases, you can arrange a private consultation without a GP referral. Your GP can also help you access the right specialist for your symptoms or diagnosis. Our team can advise you if a referral is required for your chosen consultant or insurance provider.

How quickly can I be seen?

We offer rapid access to consultations, diagnostic tests and treatment wherever possible, helping you begin your care without unnecessary delays.

Treatments are delivered within The Blenheim Suite, our purpose-designed Cancer Centre, featuring spacious chemotherapy bays, modern treatment facilities and dedicated patient support areas.

What facilities are available?

Patients have access to spacious chemotherapy bays, private consultation rooms, a dedicated family and counselling room, two dedicated outdoor spaces including a private courtyard and tranquil garden, a refreshment area, dedicated oncology pharmacy services, advanced diagnostic imaging and robotic-assisted surgery facilities. Enhanced clinical support is also available through our Level 3 intensive care unit (ITU) and Level 2 high dependency unit (HDU), where required.

What additional clinical support is available during my treatment?

The Clementine Churchill Hospital has Level 2 high dependency and Level 3 intensive care available on-site. Should your clinical needs change during treatment, this means you can access a higher level of care within the hospital where appropriate, helping to provide continuity of care without the need to transfer to another hospital.

What happens after my treatment finishes?

Following treatment, you'll continue to receive follow-up care from your consultant and multidisciplinary team. We'll provide ongoing monitoring, rehabilitation advice and access to survivorship support to help you move forward with confidence.
