On arrival at The Blackheath Hospital you will be welcomed by our friendly reception staff. A member of the porter team will take you to your room and explain all of the room facilities to you. We provide a variety of services to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Your care and comfort, together with peace of mind, are our priority.

We admit patients for a wide range of medical and surgical procedures. All patients are admitted under the care of a Consultant Surgeon or Physician of their choice. The hospital is able to draw on the expertise of these experienced consultants who chose to bring their practice to the hospital. 

The main hospital has 60 beds, with all rooms offering the privacy and comfort of en-suite facilities and satellite TV.

The excellent facilities include an imaging department and a high dependency unit, which is fully staffed and operational on a 24/7 basis ensuring patients receive the best care possible. The hospital has three main theatres, one minor treatment room and a dedicated Endoscopy Suite.

Over the years The Blackheath Hospital has received significant investment to expand and upgrade the facility including the opening of the outpatient facility. 

The hospital offers a wide variety of culinary choice from an à la carte menu and all dietary preferences are catered for. 

Visiting hours are flexible and visitors can also enjoy meals in the patient's room.

The Blackheath Hospital is a 68 bed acute general hospital situated across two sites in the heart of Blackheath village and is easily accessible from London or the South East.

The main hospital offers the privacy and comfort of en-suite facilities, satellite TV and telephone. The hospital has 3 theatres, an endoscopy suite with minor theatre and a pharmacy department. The hospital also has an imaging suite with a 1.5t MRI scanner and 64 slice CT scanner. 

These facilities, combined with the latest in technology and on-site support services, enable our consultants to undertake a wide range of procedures from routine investigations to complex surgery.

How to get to us and find the hospital

The Blackheath Hospital is situated in Blackheath village and can be approached via the M25, A20 and A2. The hospital offers private treatments and services to patients based in Greenwich, Lewisham and Bexley.

The Blackheath Hospital can be approached via the M25, A20 and A2.

After leaving the A2 at the Sun in the Sands round-a-bout, take the first exit, through the first set of traffic lights, then turn left at the second set of traffic lights, continue straight until you reach a mini round-a-bout.

At the mini round-a-bout continue straight onto Montpelier Row, bear left into Blackheath village, continue through Blackheath village. The Outpatients centre is on the right-hand side shortly after Blackheath train station.

To continue to the main hospital take the third exit at the next mini round-a-bout onto Lee Terrace, continue for approximately 100 yards, and then turn left into the Blackheath Hospital car park.

Parking

There is limited parking at both sites. There are public car parks at Blackheath station and behind Blackheath library.

There are frequent trains running approximately every 15 20 minutes in and out of Blackheath station. Blackheath station is on the South Eastern line.

Both the main hospital and the Outpatients centre are a few minutes walk from Blackheath station.

There are direct train services to Blackheath from London Bridge (12 mins), London Victoria, Charing Cross and Cannon Street, and in the opposite direction out to South East London and Kent.

The following buses services to the Outpatients centre in Blackheath village:89, 53, 202, 380, 386.

Alternatively buses 108 and 54 stop directly outside the main hospital on Lee Terrace.
