About us

At the Alexandra Hospital we have access to modern equipment and private facilities for patients in Manchester, Stockport and Cheshire.

We offer a wide range of services including orthopaedic surgery, spinal surgery, neurosurgery, cardiology and cancer care, as well as a Private Walk-in Centre and a private GP service.

The hospital has 128 beds, with all rooms offering the privacy and comfort of en-suite facilities, satellite TV and telephone.

The Alexandra Hospital opened in 1981 and has earned an international reputation for safe and effective outcomes across a wide range of treatments, from complex cardiac cases to minor surgery.

Today over 600 consultants choose to practice from the hospital, many of whom hold teaching responsibilities and are renowned for their experience, attracting patients worldwide.

We continually invest in our facilities and have committed to an £8 million investment over the next six months, bringing us to a total investment of £18 million over the last five years.

The program includes an additional MRI scanner, full refurbishment of the reception and outpatient areas, a brand-new hybrid cardiac theatre which can be used for interventional diagnostics or as a traditional operating theatre, and a range of new equipment for the hospital's seven operating theatres.

We provide the reassurance of onsite intensive care facilities at a level above most private hospitals, should they be required. With a team of resident doctors available 24 hours a day, our hospital provides an ideal environment to ensure patients are safe and cared for at all times.
