Ross Hall Hospital

Ross Hall Hospital is Scotland's largest private hospital and offers a wide range of private services for those who live in Glasgow and the West of Scotland.

Ross Hall Hospital opened in 1983 and is part of Circle Health Group, the UKs largest independent healthcare provider. Located in Glasgow, the hospital serves the West of Scotland and further afield offering a wide range of services from Dermatology to Orthopaedics.

Over 330 consultants practice privately from the hospital and are supported by caring and professional medical staff including 24-hour Resident Medical Officers. Consultants undertake a wide range of procedures from routine investigations to complex surgery within a friendly, safe and comfortable environment.

Appointments are arranged at a time to suit you, whether that be during the day or in the evening. We see patients on both an insured and self-pay basis, those with private medical insurance should check their policy details with their provider prior to attending any appointments.

You can self-refer for a majority of our services without the need for a referral from your GP.

From the moment you contact the hospital our staff are here to help. We provide information and reassurance about your diagnosis and treatment and whether you are attending as an outpatient or being admitted for surgery, our staff and processes are designed to put you at ease.

BMI Healthcare is proud to have joined forces with Circle Health Group in January 2020. Ross Hall Hospital is currently benefiting from a major £250m national investment programme in facilities, technology and people.

Following on from recent major investment at Ross Hall Hospital, which has included the creation of a brand-new 5th operating theatre, we are continuing to invest in enhancing our infrastructure.

Throughout 2022 and 2023, the below exciting developments will be taking place:

  • Replacement of all external facings of the building, including windows
  • Refurbishment of all patient bedrooms and wards
  • Building of a 6th operating theatre
  • Extension to main hospital reception and pharmacy

We would also like our patients and visitors to note that this means there will be a certain level of disruption and increased noise levels from 8am-5pm. We work closely with our contractors to minimise disturbance and noise as much as possible and assure you that if ever there are any significant noise-generating works, they will only be undertaken within the above hours.

We thank you for your understanding.
