One stop cardiology clinic

A One Stop Cardiology Clinic is available at The Alexandra Hospital. This service is created to ease anxieties by being examined and getting your results in a single visit. The clinic is led by Dr Anita Macnab, Dr Petr Ruzicka and Dr Matthew Luckie – both consultant cardiologists with expertise in echocardiography and structural heart disease.

The clinic offers:

• A full cardiology consultation
• ECG
• Echocardiogram
• Feedback on the results on the same day.

The consultant in the clinic may decide that further investigations or follow-up after your one-stop assessment are required. This may require additional tests to be organised or onward referral to a sub-specialty cardiology clinic for further assessment or follow-up.

The service is available to anyone over the age of 18 who has concerns about their heart or would like to get a second opinion. A GP referral will be required for consultations. The clinic is particularly suited to patients who have a heart murmur or concerns about heart valve disease and would also be appropriate for patients with concerns regarding heart failure or inherited heart disease.

Appointment slots are available on Thursdays and Fridays, although other times can be made available on request.

A full cardiology consultation, ECG, Echocardiogram and follow up results on the same day, is charged at only £750.

If you are paying for yourself, we can usually offer an upfront cost which you can then choose to pay in full or access one of our easy payment options.
