At Chaucer Hospital, we offer private physiotherapy services to patients based in Canterbury, Faversham, Dover, Folkestone, Ashford and the wider Kent community.
Chaucer Hospital is found in the historic city of Canterbury, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the English county of Kent. Our patients come to us from local areas such as Faversham, Thanet, Herne Bay and Whitstable, as well as Deal, Wye, Ashford and Maidstone. Our expert consultants, world-class facilities and truly compassionate team also attract people from further afield, across the UK and even abroad.
Physiotherapy can help with a wide range of injuries and conditions including back and neck pain, repetitive strain injuries, joint pain and arthritis, muscle injuries, post-surgery rehabilitation, and sports injuries.
There are also physiotherapists that specialise in women’s health, acupuncture and Pilates.
Your first visit will involve an assessment of your condition so that a treatment programme can be specifically developed for you. We offer a wide range of therapies that are often used in combination with a treatment programme.
Your initial appointment will involve a full assessment of your condition, we will then tailor a physiotherapy programme to suit your individual needs.
All physiotherapists are registered with the Health & Care Professions Council and they work closely as part of our integrated multi-disciplinary teams within our hospitals.
If necessary, you can benefit from fast referrals and access to the latest imaging technologies to help accurately diagnose and aid treatment pathway decisions.
We provide on-site access to diagnostic imaging services which may include ultrasound, X-ray, MRI and CT scans.
Let our physiotherapists work with you to provide expert advice and develop an exercise programme which meets your specific needs. Exercise forms an important part of physiotherapy. The aim is to increase mobility, muscle strength, and general fitness, build core stability, and reduce symptoms.
Services include personal training and customised rehabilitation. Equipment we may use includes; multigym, bikes, parallel bars, suspension frame, gym balls, balance boards, trampolines, weights and Theraband.
Chaucer Hospital now offers a comprehensive patient-centred service for post-orthopaedic surgery and cancer treatment rehabilitation with our multi-disciplinary team of physiotherapists and personal trainers through a group class, using the most up to date research-based techniques.
The advanced orthopaedic rehabilitation programme concentrates on patients who have had any lower limb surgery and finished their post-surgery physiotherapy sessions but would like help improving their strength and getting fit again to return to their normal daily activities.
The oncology programme is aimed at enhancing patients’ recovery through training sessions on exercising safely and effectively during and after treatment. Led by our team of qualified physiotherapists and personal trainers, the classes offers patients the opportunity to recover through group sessions, whilst undergoing training that is tailored to their individual needs.
The service is available to self-pay, insured and NHS patients. Package options start from six sessions and patients can add individual sessions on a pay as you go basis as suitable.
Please do not hesitate to contact a member of our team if you require treatment that is not listed above and would like to discuss your needs.
