You can self-refer and pay for your physiotherapy yourself, whilst we also accept referrals (including diagnostic imaging) and work closely with all major insurers. We also provide support from a multidisciplinary team of physiotherapists, physiotherapist assistants and consultants, providing onward referrals to consultant specialists if and when required.

The Ross Hall Physiotherapy Centre provides a range of unique services ranging from classes and AlterG® Anti-Gravity Treadmill® sessions, through to sports massages and acupuncture.

  • The falls classes in Glasgow are for patients who have had an initial falls assessment and have been recommended to take part to work on things identified in said assessment, with a goal of building strength, balance, control, and confidence, leading to an overall enhanced quality of life.

    In these classes, you will work through exercises and education on how to prevent further falls, focussed on mobility, balance and strength, as well as means to cope with falls in the future regarding getting back up, getting assistance, and staying warm amongst others.

    The falls classes in Glasgow are 45 minute sessions and are booked in blocks of 8 sessions. These blocks cost £120. Sessions are limited to 12 participants. Before taking part in falls classes, you will require an initial £80 assessment with a physiotherapist.

  • Pilates classes in Glasgow are for those looking to explore Pilates and improve their strength, mobility and flexibility.

    Pilates works to build core strength and stamina whilst utilising your back, buttocks, inner thighs and hips. Furthermore, these Pilates classes in Glasgow will aim to improve both your balance and coordination, whilst they can also benefit posture, and importantly pain and stress relief.

  • The AlterG® Anti-Gravity Treadmill® in Glasgow can be utilised for a variety of reasons.

    To use the AlterG® you will first require an initial Musculoskeletal (MSK) consultation with a physiotherapist – this will include an assessment of your current ability and condition, as well as an initial 30 minute trial of the treadmill. This session lasts 45 minutes in total and costs £59.

    From here, you can book sessions on the AlterG® in 15 minute increments, starting at 30 minutes. A 30 minute session costs £25, with each additional 15 minutes costing £12.50.

  • The strength and conditioning classes in Glasgow are aimed largely at MSK and post-fracture patients. To attend the classes, you must first undergo an initial assessment with a specialist physiotherapist – this lasts 45 minutes and costs £80.

    The strength and conditioning sessions operate as circuit classes, where stations are set out specifically for the patients in attendance utilising our range of equipment. These sessions focus on strength and mobility and are geared towards helping you regain both your physical and mental confidence. Our range of smart technology equipment means not only can we manually adjust the difficulty as and when required, but the equipment can automatically recommend an easier or more difficult level depending on your progress. Furthermore, through this kit we are enabled to provide you with a full analysis and progress report after each block.

    The strength and conditioning classes in Glasgow are 45 minutes sessions. They can be booked either in blocks, or on as a ‘pay as you go’ basis. A block of 4 sessions can be booked upfront and costs £60, whilst booking sessions individually costs £20 per session. Sessions are limited to 12 participants.

  • Acupuncture in Glasgow is offered as part of the overall Musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapy service.

    Originating as a traditional Chinese medicine, the practice of acupuncture involves inserting very fine needles into specific places on the body, known as acupuncture points, located in the skin and in underlying tissues. There are more than 500 of these points on the body, hypothesised to affect the way organs and tissues function.

    Acupuncture works by encouraging the body to release natural pain-killing substances, or endorphins, thereby easing your symptoms of pain and discomfort. You may also benefit from 'Trigger Point' Acupuncture, used to facilitate relaxation in specific muscles following trauma or injury. In this scenario, needles are placed directly into the affected muscles until they relax. Acupuncture is often used in combination with other physiotherapy treatments such as manual therapy or exercises, although it can also be effective on its own.

    An acupuncture session in Glasgow lasts 45 minutes and costs £59 per session, whilst a follow up session lasts 30 minutes and costs £50. You will require an initial £59 MSK appointment with a physiotherapist to assess if acupuncture is an appropriate treatment in your rehabilitation journey.

  • Joint injections in Glasgow are offered to patients suffering with painful joints or soft tissues.

    A steroid injection, otherwise known as a corticosteroid injection, is when anti-inflammatory medication is injected into the area to reduce pain and inflammation. This may be recommended for a number of reasons, including if you are unable to tolerate oral anti-inflammatories, or if your condition is too painful to manage purely though traditional physiotherapy rehabilitation. The effects of injections can last between weeks and months, and are used for arthritis in joints (expect the spine), arthritis, rotator cuff pathologies, frozen shoulder/capsulitis, shoulder impingement, tennis/golfer’s elbow (epicondylitis) and tendonitis.

    To have a joint injection, you will first require an initial MSK physiotherapy appointment costing £59. If you are deemed suitable by your physiotherapist for an injection, you will be administered said injection at a follow up appointment – this will cost £126.

    From here, you can benefit from a block of 3 follow up sessions to continue your rehabilitation journey post-injection. These blocks of 3 sessions costs £150.

  • Extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) in Glasgow is offered to patients as a non-surgical procedure used to treat a variety of conditions across the body.

    ESWT is seen as an alternative to surgery and involves no anaesthesia, whilst it is also a non-invasive option offering quick treatment, recovery and results, whilst also being virtually painless after treatment and having fewer complications.

    ESWT has a variety of applications and can be used to treat numerous conditions including Achilles, rotator cuff, patellar and hamstring tendinopathy, as well as plantar fasciopathy, golfers and tennis elbow, and greater trochanteric pain syndrome. ESWT is known to work well with chronic injuries – when an injury lasts longer than three months. Your course of ESWT is designed to engage the healing process in chronic injuries and revert them to an acute phase of healing, in turn enhancing the chances of a better recovery.

    You will require an initial assessment with a physiotherapist to determine if ESWT is an appropriate means of treating your condition, and you can undergo traditional physiotherapy alongside your ESWT course if deemed necessary. You may also be referred for an ultrasound or MRI scan to determine the extent of your injury before undergoing a course of treatment.

    To undergo ESWT, you must first have an initial MSK physiotherapy appointment costing £59. If you are deemed suitable for ESWT, you can undertake a block of sessions, or alternatively individual sessions.

    A block of 4 ESWT sessions costs £200, whilst an individual session costs £75.

  • Ossur Unloader bracing in Glasgow is offered to those living with knee joint pain.

    Ossur are a manufacturer and supplier of non-invasive orthopaedics equipment with the goal of improving the mobility and quality of lives of patients with joint pain. We offer patients the Unloader brace for knee pain. The knee joint is under a significant amount of strain over a lifetime, especially for those who play sports. Often this joint pain is caused by osteoarthritis; the natural deterioration of the knee cartilage which can happen in one or both sides of the knee, negatively affecting and limiting your activities and enjoyment of these activities.

    The Ossur Unloader knee brace unloads the painful affected side of the knee, providing a reduction in pain and improvement in function. We are a dedicated fitting centre for the brace, assessing your suitability for the brace before supplying and fitting.

  • Laser therapy in Glasgow is a non-invasive treatment used in wound and soft tissue healing.

    Laser therapy treatment uses the application of red and near infra-red light over injuries or lesions to improve wound and soft tissue healing. It can help to reduce inflammation and give relief for both acute and chronic pain.   • HUR equipment embeds smart technology with both balance and strength testing. The smart equipment auto loads programmes and difficulty/resistance tailored to the person using the machine, promoting an independent and completely tailored rehabilitation programme. HUR equipment also enables unilateral limb isolated training.

    A performance recorder can be directly connected to the HUR exercise equipment - this Smart Card system allows for individualised planning and recording, with the touch screen interface providing instructions, goals and feedback on your progress. Patients can utilise this advanced technology to establish a baseline for their current performance, therefore allowing you to visually analyse your progress via the built in performance recorder.

    Whether you are either an elite or amateur athlete, HUR equipment can be used to determine weakness or inequalities and provide a focused rehabilitation programme, utilising balance, isometric force and functional testing. Furthermore, HUR equipment can be used across numerous groups of physiotherapy patients including MSK, cardiac, falls, oncology, neurology, vestibular, and pre-surgery (prehabilitation).

  • The Tyrostation is a multi-functional virtual reality area with numerous applications. The equipment comprises of a variety of kit, providing enhanced rehabilitation across cognitive training (limbs, gait and balance), upper and lower limb therapy, balance, core and posture training, and task-oriented repetitive therapy. This leads to a regained sense of empowerment and confidence in promoting independence.

    The Tyrostation offers tailored rehabilitation games and evidence based protocols to promote independent rehabilitation, helping with cognition and repetition whilst remaining engaging and motivating. The components of the station are designed to replicate functional activities, therefore evaluating asymmetries, equilibrium and coordination across the torso, upper and lower body. The hand and motion sensors measure quality and range of motion as well as strength, whilst the therapy plate assesses elements such as balance, weight distribution and postural control.

    The Tyrostation can be applied across multiple physiotherapy disciplines, enabling stroke, neurological (inc. spinal cord, head, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy), hand, falls, occupational therapy, post op and MSK patients (adults and children) to use it in their rehabilitation.   • The AlterG® Anti-Gravity Treadmill® is an advanced rehabilitation treadmill used to reduce stress on injuries and joints in the lower body. The treadmill enables safe rehabilitation whilst reducing pain and the risk of re-injury through innovative weight bearing technology. It does this by reducing the load placed on the body by regulating air in a pressure-controlled compartment.

    The AlterG® is beneficial to a range of people, whether you are a professional athlete or someone recovering from orthopaedic surgery. The innovative technology ensures the treadmill is able to carry up to 80% of your body weight, enabling you to exercise with less load, in turn increasing ability, enjoyment and progression whilst minimising pain and subsequent fatigue.

    A number of patients can use the AlterG®. This includes post ankle, hip and knee surgery patients, as well as older patients requiring strength and conditioning rehabilitation, gait training for neurological patients, arthritis hip and knee patients, oncology patients, and patients enrolled in weight-loss programmes, as well as those considering bariatric surgery.

  • The baiobit is a multi-purpose clinical and functional evaluation tool. The small wireless sensor provides instant feedback to a user-friendly interface providing quantitative and visual feedback for a range of patient groups.

    The baiobit has a variety of applications, where patients can either wear the sensor on their head, wrist or waist.
