Specialist cancer care centre
Here at The Harbour Private Cancer Centre, our multidisciplinary team works together to provide you with dedicated care for a wide range of cancers, if you are based in Poole, Bournemouth, Dorset or the surrounding areas.
With patient care at the centre of their work, our highly skilled team of surgeons, Consultant Oncologists, Haematologists and specialist cancer nurses are able to provide fast, efficient access to treatment.
This may include surgery, hormone therapy, Systematic Anti-Cancer Therapies (SACT) and radiotherapy, as individual or combined treatments.
You will be offered an assessment with the nursing team prior to your treatment, where you will be informed of what to expect pre, during and post SACT.
During this time we are more than happy to answer any initial queries you may have. Our SACT services are designed to be completely flexible to meet the patient’s needs, offering day case facilities with round the clock assistance available.
With the support of The Harbour Hospital, The Harbour Cancer Centre offers fast access to the support required to provide an effective cancer service. This includes onsite diagnostic equipment (x-ray, MRI, CT), blood test facilities and a fully stocked Pharmacy giving access to the latest drugs.
Every patient has a dedicated nurse, highly experienced in administering a range of therapies, and bespoke treatment plan and regime to suit their individual needs. The centre allows patients to choose how they would like their treatment to be managed, including both open and private therapy bays.
If radiotherapy is necessary it will be administered within Poole General Hospital and will be organised for you by your consultant. This gives patients access to the latest radiotherapy treatments.

We aim to provide you with exceptional care, expert knowledge and specialist skills to help you through your journey.
Our multidisciplinary cancer team are committed to providing a holistic approach to patient care.
From 2026, The Harbour Hospital is partnering with Lewis‑Manning Hospice Care to offer enhanced, personalised support for people receiving cancer treatment across Dorset. This new partnership is designed to help patients feel informed, supported, and confident at every stage of their journey.
Together with Lewis-Manning Hospice Care's Lymphoedema Specialists, we host sessions for breast cancer patients at the hospital. These sessions include practical and emotional support such as prehabilitation advice, nutrition guidance, exercise support, help with managing post‑operative changes and scarring, rehabilitation after treatment, and support for early menopause.
This new service brings together the expertise of both Lewis‑Manning and The Harbour Hospital, offering a supportive space where patients can ask questions, share experiences, and learn helpful strategies for their wellbeing. It reflects our shared commitment to anticipatory care: supporting patients early, clearly, and consistently throughout their treatment.
As Maria Murphy, Clinical Services Manager for Oncology Services at The Harbour Hospital, explained: "Working with Lewis‑Manning allows us to strengthen the care we offer by bringing specialist knowledge directly into the hospital setting, focusing on clear communication, continuity of care, and building patients’ confidence at every stage."
