Mr Visavadia is a Consultant Maxillofacial and Oral Surgeon with a Special Interest in Head and Neck Cancer at both Northwick Park and Watford General Hospitals. He works with both Mount Vernon and North West London Cancer Networks.
He has had comprehensive training in Oral and Maxillo-Facial surgery and has developed my special interest in head and neck oncology and facial reconstruction including skin cancer. Mr Visavadia has an active interest in the rehabilitation of head and neck cancer patients and in the management of salivary gland disorders.
He is Clinical Lead of a dynamic Maxillofacial Department in North West London and has focussed his team in the care of patients and the delivery of surgical training.
Mr Visavadia is also BAOMS Member of its Clinical Effectiveness Sub-Committee and has been involved in the revalidation programme for Consultants. The programme is now rolling out national audit programmes in preparation for revalidation.
He has been a Specialist Adviser to the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) in its Interventional Procedures Programme, and is also Lead for Head and Neck Cancer Services in West Herts Hospitals Trust, working to ensure that policies and patient pathways meet NICE guidelines.
Mr Visavadia represent his service locally and regionally with respect to Head and Neck Cancer and works with local PCTs and Networks to enable fast tracked urgent suspect cancer referrals from dentists and GPs.
He is a Peer Reviewer for the NHS and has been an active member of its review of cancer centres compliance with NICE Improving Outcomes Guidelines in Head and Neck Cancer.
Mr Visavadia is a surgical trainer and examiner in Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgery and is also able to perform surgery on children at The Clementine Churchill Hospital.
