Private Children’s Hospital in Milton Keynes

We have a wonderful Paediatric team here in Milton Keynes with a variety of consultants and nurses.

We see children from 0-16 years through our outpatient services, and from 3-16 years for day-case and inpatient procedures.

Our aim is to ease the anxiety for both you and your child, so we offer you and your child the opportunity to visit the hospital, prior to admission where you can  meet the staff and familiarise yourself with the environment. Our children’s nurses are experienced and will aim to make you and your child feel comfortable and relaxed about their stay.

Please note that children with acute medical or surgical problems are not admitted to this clinic.

*All Paediatric appointments are to be booked by our contact centre on the number at the top of the page. Please do not use the online bookings facility as this can not be used for this service*. Select option 1 and option 1 on the messaging service.

We see children with various symptoms and conditions in our outpatient department such as:

Common surgical procedures here include:

  • ENT adenoidectomy, grommets, tonsillectomy and tympanoplasty
  • Knee Pain: ACL reconstruction and arthroscopies
  • Urology: circumcisions, cysts, and undescended testicles (orchidopexy)

How to Book in with one of our Paediatric consultants

  • Call our contact centre to book your appointment with the relevant consultant, they will advise if a referral from the GP is required for the chosen consultant.

If Surgery is required, what happens on the day of surgery.

Children will have been given a booklet to read prior to the day to that will explain in children's terminology, what will happen on the day. It will explain that they are not allowed to eat prior, and it will also explain that they may well be under the weather before they feel better.

From start to finish, our approach will be built around your child’s individual needs, as we are aware that every child's needs are different.

On the ward we provide a selection of activities, and a children’s menu for them to choose from.
  • All children will also receive a bravery certificate
  • A Teddy Lion, which is given to them after the procedure to symbolise bravery.

A Registered Children’s Nurse is involved in the planning and delivery of care for all children and is supported by a dedicated, friendly and caring team. You can learn more about our private Paediatric services team here.

Children who need surgery will be looked after in designated areas with special attention paid to safeguarding protocol. We take care of the logistics so that you don’t have to worry.
