People visit us from Newmarket, Diss, Sudbury, Thetford, Woolpit and Mildenhall. We also see patients from Hadleigh, Stowmarket, Ely and Haverhill. If you’re living in one of these areas and looking for a private hospital near you, our team is ready and waiting to help you.
There is increasing awareness of prostate related problems in men over the age of 50 years and particular concern in the rise of prostatic cancers.
These symptoms can be caused by other non cancerous problems so it is important to find out what is wrong. If you are suffering from any of the above symptoms, or have a family history of prostate cancer, it is advisable to have your prostate gland assessed. A simple examination and blood test will help to diagnose the cause.
In addition, we provide counselling and advice of possible further tests, where appropriate.
The prostate assessment service is led by Mr John McLoughlin, Consultant Urologist.
Following a prostatic assessment, we may recommend that you consider prostate mapping. This is a process by which men suspected of having prostate cancer or men with a diagnosis of prostate cancer, can be more certain of their true risk. If we do recommend this, we will discuss the full details of this option with you.
