At Mount Alvernia Hospital we offer specialist health assessments with both our private GPs and our nurses, so you can discuss your personal health concerns, whatever your stage of life.
Our four key health assessments have been created for people with different lifestyles and concerns. Ultimately, they all serve to do the same thing: improve your quality of life and reduce your risk of common preventable illnesses like heart disease and diabetes.
Depending on which assessment you opt for, we'll also build in time to look at some things we often put aside for another day, like muscle and joint pains and your own emotional health.
Whichever you choose, you'll meet a GP and/or nurse in a clinical setting. They'll listen to your concerns and take their time in reviewing your health to pinpoint any lifestyle changes you can make for the better.
It'll give you the skills you need to take responsibility for your health and wellbeing - or peace of mind. We can make onward referrals within Mount Alvernia Hospital, or to another Circle Health Group hospital nearby if your health assessment turns up something that needs a closer look.

We know one size doesn’t fit all, so we offer four different Health Assessments, each created for people with different lifestyles and concerns.
Essential
A great choice for people who don't have any specific health concerns and are just looking to keep an eye on their health. It's our most affordable health check and includes one hour with a specialist nurse who can advise you on your diet, fitness and lifestyle to minimise your health risks for the future. Select
A good middle ground for people who want a thorough health check but don't have any pressing concerns. In this assessment, we’ll focus on issues specific to your gender, for example early signs of female-or male-specific cancers, as well as testing for issues that affect us all. Advanced
A thorough health check that can give a detailed picture of your overall health, looking at everything from your blood pressure to your body fat percentage, a full set of blood tests, dietary and lifestyle appraisals, assessing the function of your heart, kidneys, lungs and more. Advanced Plus
Our most comprehensive health check. It's a really thorough health check that can give a detailed picture of your overall health, looking at everything from your blood pressure to your body fat percentage, and assessing the function of your heart, kidneys, lungs and more. You will benefit from all the tests and examinations detailed in the advanced assessment, to give you complete peace of mind, plus an in-depth examination of your cardiovascular system. We also have a wide range of additional tests available. If you have a particular concern that you'd like to address, please discuss it at your assessment.
If any tests are not clinically appropriate for you, your doctor will advise you.
After your health assessment you will receive personalised advice based on your unique consultation and results.
This will include recommendations on the lifestyle changes you can make to improve your health and wellbeing. If needed, you will have quick access to further diagnostic tests and treatments, either on site at Mount Alvernia or through our wider network of hospitals and specialists across the UK.
The cost of health checks will vary depending on where you have the assessment, which specialists you see and which diagnostics are included. For example, you might want to pay extra to have certain checks that are more relevant to your age or your gender – these can easily be added on to whichever health assessment you choose.

* The health assessment is booked and paid for as package should any tests not be completed due to reasons such as equipment failure, partial refunds will not be given instead we can offer it an alternative location.
Our private GPs and nursing staff will offer a tailored approach to your health assessment, addressing any particular concerns, alongside what’s covered in the specific package. We'll also build in time to look at any lingering issues like muscle and joint pains, as well as your own emotional health and wellbeing.
Because your health assessment takes place in a hospital, we have quick and easy access to blood tests, x-rays, cardiac investigations, ultrasound and osteoporosis screening as well as the latest in CT and MRI scanners.
