Dr Nina Wilson offers a specialist Menopause service at Goring Hall Hospital. Menopause is a natural part of ageing where a female can experience lower levels of two hormones which are produced in the ovaries called estragon and progesterone. This can result in the symptoms listed below.  

Symptoms of menopause:

• Irregular periods and tender breasts
• Hot flushes and night sweats
• Memory problems, difficulty concentrating and brain fog
• Irritability, crying spells, anger, mood swings
• Anxiety and depression

Dr Wilson can assess, diagnose and provide treatment for menopause in relaxed comfortable settings. 

Menopause assessments are priced at £250 for the initial consultation which is 45 minutes. Follow up consultations are £195 for a 30 minute consultation.

Am I covered by my private medical insurance?

Although appointments are unlikely to be covered by your private medical insurance, further investigations or referrals following on from your appointment may be covered (please check with your insurance company).

What happens if I need to be referred to a consultant or I require further tests?

Should you need to be referred to a consultant or for any diagnostic investigation such as blood tests or x-rays, there is no obligation to use Goring Hall Hospital services. You have the choice to proceed with your care under your NHS GP and we can forward a letter onto them with our recommendations of referral to a consultant or for diagnostic tests.

If you would like to continue your care with Goring Hall Hospital we have most diagnostic facilities on site and in most cases investigations can be carried out on the day or the following day. Results are normally available within 72 hours. On average you are able to see a consultant within a few days of your appointment.
