Mr. Mahmoud holds a broad array of prestigious qualifications, including the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Orth), a Master's degree in Trauma and Orthopaedics, and diplomas from the European Board of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (EBOT) and the International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (SICOT). He also possesses advanced credentials in clinical education, reinforcing his commitment to surgical teaching and mentorship.

Mr. Mahmoud completed his junior training years at Merseyside based at Aintree University Hospitals. Subsequently, he moved to Southwest London where he gained the valuable experience of working at St. George's Hospital and the SWLEOC elective orthopaedic centre.
Mr. Mahmoud has his national training in trauma and orthopaedics on the North East of England (Newcastle) rotation. An excellent training program during which he developed himself as a safe and successful surgeon. He obtained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2019 prior to his Certificate of Completion of Training, leading to his registration as a specialist surgeon in 2020.
At the end of his training, Mr. Mahmoud went for further sub specialised training in Australia. He worked at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, an extremely busy centre where he gained further training on management of complex hip and knee problems (including complex joint replacements and revision surgery) in addition to management of complex fractures. Then, he secured the reputable fellowship of the Hip Arthroscopy Austraila, supervised by Professor John O'Donnell, one of the world's pioneers of hip arthroscopy. This time provided him with the skills required to provide hip preservation service and care for patients with sports hip problems. Being keen to get back to the UK, Mr Mahmoud had further specialised training in complex hip and knee surgery before starting his consultant career in West Yorkshire.
Having completed a senior arthroplasty fellowship in United Lincolnshire Hospital NHS Trust, he successfully performed over 200 hip and knee replacements in under a year, showcasing his technical excellence and efficiency.
He is currently keen on introducing the hip preservation and sports hip service to Huddersfield and Calderdale Valley. Through this service, he will help younger patients to avoid hip replacement surgery if at all possible.
Mr. Mahmoud spent a full year of research investigating the complications of Metal-on-Metal hip replacements under supervision of Mr. Steve Jones at University Hospital Wales. The results of this project were presented at national and international meetings. He is keen on producing high quality research work. He led multiple practice changing research projects, the results of which were published in high impact factor journals. He acts as a reviewer for many specialist orthopaedic journals including the famous Journal of Arthroplasty.
Out of work, Mr. Mahmoud likes to swim and run. He is also a big tennis fan and proud to have been part of the ABTO (Association of British Tennis Officials) as a line and chair umpire for 5 years.
