Richard is an experienced consultant ophthalmologist with extensive sub-specialist expertise in oculoplastic surgery. He completed ten years of ophthalmology specialist training in London, UK with four years Moorfields Eye Hospital.
In 2012 he was awarded the Keeler Scholarship from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists for his Orbital and Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive fellowship of California, USA.
Richard then completed two more prestigious oculoplastic fellowships at
Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital, obtaining extensive sub-speciality experience in eyelid, lacrimal and orbital surgery.
Richard was appointed at Buckinghamshire NHS Trust in 2016 to lead the Oculoplastic service at Stoke Mandeville and Wycombe Hospitals, prior to this he was a locum consultant at Moorfields Eye Hospital. He was appointed at Chelsea & Westminster in 2018 to lead the oculoplastic service and is a member of the Craniofacial Multidisciplinary Team. Richard is also the ophthalmologist at The Royal Marsden Hospital, Chelsea.
