Miss Nneka Eze a highly experienced and extremely professional Ear, Nose and Throat surgeon. She is passionate about giving the highest quality treatment to both her adult and paediatric patients. Many of her patients are recommended to her through word-of-mouth and she commonly treats several members of the same family. She prides herself on her excellent communication skills and empathy whilst delivering a high standard of patient care.

As a renowned surgeon, she worked as a fully trained consultant in both adult and paediatric Ear, Nose and Throat surgery at St George’s Hospital in London for 10 years. She now works exclusively in the private sector and is based in London.

Training

Miss Eze had extremely high-quality and exceptional surgical training. She graduated from Imperial College, London in 1999 and became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons in both England and Edinburgh in 2002. She attained a Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in Ear, Nose and Throat surgery in 2011.

During medical school, she was selected to undertake an intercalated BSc with honours in Biochemistry in 1996. On graduating she completed both general surgical training and specialist Ear, Nose and Throat surgical training within the highly competitive South West Thames region. This included extensive and specialist training at Guys and St Thomas‘s Hospital, Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, Evelina Children’s Hospital, and St George’s Hospital.

Research

Research has been a large part of her career. She has multiple International and National presentations of her research, in addition to several publications in International research journals. She has presented multiple times at the prestigious Royal Society of Medicine, London and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications.

Miss Eze was selected to perform basic science research in cochlear micromechanics at Columbia University, New York. She spent 18 months working on a specialist project analysing how the inner ear works in fine detail. This required a large volume of work and extensive surgical technical ability. She also trained with the Ear Nose and Throat surgeons at Columbia University Hospital. She was awarded an MD by the University of London for the research performed.

Fellowships

Two highly competitive advanced clinical fellowships were completed at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital and also at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital. The first was in Otology and Hearing implantation and the second in specialist Paediatric Ear Nose and Throat surgery. These fellowships are reserved for the most able surgeons and are advertised internationally.

Miss Eze had further international experience during a clinical fellowship at Zurich University Hospital. She worked within the Ear Nose and Throat department. She treated patients both in the clinic setting and also in the theatre.

These Advanced Training Fellowships have given Miss Eze superior surgical training which allows her to comfortably treat complex adult and paediatric patients.

Consultant Appointment

Miss Eze was awarded her certificate for completion of surgical training (CCST) in 2013 and was appointed as one of a handful of highly qualified adult and paediatric Ear, Nose and Throat consultant at St George’s Hospital in 2014.

Teaching

Teaching is an area of passion for Miss Eze. She has been dedicated to teaching undergraduate medical students in addition to postgraduate trainees with excellent feedback from junior doctors regarding her methods of teaching. Miss Eze has been appointed to a local secondary school to teach sixth formers who are aspiring medics. She prepares and runs classes, teaching the basics of Ear, Nose and Throat surgery and also coordinates practical sessions which are thoroughly enjoyed by the students.

She is exceptional in teaching in both the lecture hall and also in theatre and was appointed as an educational supervisor at St George’s Hospital. She is committed to inspiring the next generation of Ear Nose and Throat surgeons.

Miss Eze is married and has two children. She lives in London and enjoys walking, travelling, and going to the gym. She is passionate about the education of children and has been appointed as a Governor of a local school.
