About Mr Mohamed Osman

Personal Profile

Mr Osman is an experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon, specialising in the care of children and adolescents who have trauma & orthopaedic problems. He has a particular experience in dealing with paediatric foot and ankle deformities, paediatric hip diseases and neuromuscular conditions.

Mr Osman graduated from Minia University in Egypt in 2000. He received his higher orthopaedic surgical training in Upper Egypt followed by completion of two years fellowship at Yorkhill Hospital in Glasgow, UK. During his training he earned both a Master’s and Medical doctorate degrees in trauma and orthopaedics with a focused academic work on Perthes’ disease. 

Mr Osman started his paediatric orthopaedic practice as a consultant in 2011 in Egypt. From 2018 till present, he works as a paediatric orthopaedic consultant surgeon in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde with his practice based in the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow. In addition to his general paediatric orthopaedic practice covering most of the childhood and adolescence orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions, he has a subspecialist interest in management of orthopaedic problems in patients with neuromuscular and syndromic backgrounds e.g. cerebral palsy, paediatric foot and ankle deformities and paediatric hip problems particularly Perthes’ disease. He is a faculty member in some of the paediatric orthopaedic courses and he is an honorary clinical senior lecturer in Glasgow University.

Away from work, Mr Osman enjoys spending time with his family, fitness and watching football games. 

Mr Osman reviews and operates on patients from age 3 up to the age of 18 years old.
