He is fully licensed with the GMC and is on the Specialist Register as a plastic surgeon and is a member of the British Association of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeons (BAPRAS) and the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS). Mr Tyler is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon in the NHS, based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, where he provides a service for patients in Buckinghamshire and part of Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.
His NHS practice is centred on providing breast reconstructive surgery to the region, mainly reconstructions with DIEP flaps, but also includes breast reductions, breast asymmetries and other congenital breast anomalies. He is Clinical Director of the Plastic Surgery and Burns Department at Stoke Mandeville Hospital and also has a burns surgery and general plastic surgery caseload that includes hand surgery and surgery for skin cancer.
He is a past president of the Plastic Surgery Section of the Royal Society of Medicine, and is also Clinical Director of RESTORE, a charity involved in researching treatments for scarring. He has presented his work at national and international meetings and has published scientific research papers and book chapters. Mr Tyler’s private practice is principally cosmetic surgery based and is centred around facial aesthetic surgery (mainly rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty and facelift) but also includes breast surgery (breast augmentation and reduction / mastopexy) and abdominoplasty.
