About Dr Mayur Kumar

Personal Profile

Dr Kumar is a consultant gastroenterologist at Princess Royal University Hospital and King's College Hospital NHS Trust with specialist interest in oesophageal, liver, pancreato-biliary diseases, inflammatory bowel disease and advanced endoscopy. He completed his specialist training in internal medicine and gastroenterology in London and south east and obtained Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCT) in 2014. He is a JAG accredited endoscopist and performs OGD, Colonoscopy and ERCP . He also is an accredited endoscopist for the National Bowel Scope Screening programme .

He worked as a fellow in University College Hospital London- training in advanced endoscopy and ERCP. Following completion of training he was appointed as a substantive consultant in NHS in 2014. Dr Kumar has presented several abstracts in both national and international conferences and published papers in peer reviewed journals.

He has participated in clinical research and has ongoing research interests in pancreato-biliary diseases and endoscopy. He had been awarded a travelling Fellowship to University Hospital of South Carolina, USA for further training in advanced endoscopy . He is a member of the British Society of Gastroenterology, Royal College of Physicians. London and American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and had previously represented gastroenterology trainees as a trainee representative on the endoscopy committee of British Society of Gastroenterology. He is actively involved in training of junior doctors and specialist trainees.
