He qualified in medicine at the University of Cambridge, qualifying in 1991. He specialised in cardiology in London, and became a consultant in 2005.
He has a special interest in the treatment of angina, and coronary angioplasty ('balloon' treatment) and stents.
His other interests include palpitations, dizziness, high blood pressure and echocardiography. Dr Khan sees private patients at Bishops Wood Hospital on alternate Monday evenings.
The recent expansion of cardiac services at Bishops Wood Hospital means that most cardiac outpatient tests can now be carried out on site.
