Mr Shakokani, provides appointments for all major insurers, patients who wish to pay for themselves and selected clinics for NHS patients who wish to be seen at the St Edmunds Hospital for patients requiring orthopaedic surgery in Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridge.
Mr Shakokani’s specialist interests include: total hip and knee replacement, revision hip surgery, and prosthetic joint infections. He also has a trauma practice covering emergency trauma surgery and periprosthetic fractures.
Mr Shakokani completed his specialist orthopaedic training on the Cambridge rotation, he then undertook one of the country’s highest volume complex revision fellowships at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital where he was trained in all aspects of standard and complex primary and revision hip replacements including custom and 3D printed implants. He also augmented his training with multiple visits to various centres of excellence in the UK and Europe such as the Endo Klinik in Germany.
In addition to his clinical work Mr Shakokani has maintained a strong academic interest, he has been involved in multiple national trials as a principal investigator, published many articles, abstracts, book chapters, and has given presentations in national and international conferences. He is currently a reviewer for the Bone and Joint Journal.
In his personal life, Mr Shakokani enjoys numerous sports including kayaking, fishing and shooting. He lives in Bury St Edmunds with his wife and two children.
