Katrina returned to the East Kent area, developing her physiotherapy skills at QEQM Hospital, Margate. It was here she developed her interest in Women’s and Men’s Health, working in both outpatient and on the wards before leaving the Hospital to specialise in this area in the community where she primarily treated women with stress and or urge incontinence or pelvic organ prolapse; men with urinary incontinence and pregnancy related joint pains.
In 2007 Katrina developed a women’s and men’s health service at Chaucer Hospital, Canterbury alongside working in orthopaedic and general out-patient physiotherapy. Whilst in this post Katrina identified an opportunity to provide care to clients with lymphoedema and is now a qualified lymphoedema therapist trained in fluoroscopy guided manual lymphatic drainage.
Alongside this Katrina works closely with the cancer care department, offering exercise programmes to individuals appropriate to their health and their needs to support them during and after their cancer treatment
Katrina believes strongly in providing individualised patient care with a focus on listening to an individual’s specific goals and working together to create an individualised care plan. Katrina can offer treatment to general outpatients including acupuncture and specialist treatment of women’s and men’s health and lymphoedema.
