He gained specialist training in Hand Surgery at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham, Selly Oak Hospital, Birmingham and the Children's Hospital, Birmingham in 2006/2007. He was appointed to his Consultant post in Manchester in 2007.
Mr Duff qualified from Oxford University in 1993 and trained in General Surgical Skills in the South West of England. After a period of research in Skin Lasers in Bristol, he started his specialist training in Plastic Surgery in Manchester and Sheffield in 2000.
Mr Duff specialises in many aspects of cosmetic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. He offers male breast surgery (e.g. gynaecomastia, breast reduction), abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), body contouring after massive weight loss, eyelid correction (blepharoplasty), and labial reduction. He also has extensive experience in hand surgery, including for example: Dupuytren's contracture (Dupuytren's fasciectomy and Dupuytren's fasciotomy), carpal tunnel syndrome and carpal tunnel release, trigger finger treatment, tendon transfer and reconstruction and repair of injured tendons, nerves and bones.
He has an active training role and has served as the Regional Training Programme Director for Plastic Surgery for the North West Deanery, Chair of the North West Deanery Specialist Training Committee for Plastic Surgery, and a Tutor for The University of Manchester and BSSH Hand Diploma.
Mr Duff also has a specialist role in the delivery of Skin Oncology (skin cancer treatment such as BCC, SCC and melanoma) in Manchester. He sits on 3 skin cancer multi-disciplinary teams and is a Peer Reviewer for the National Cancer Action Team.
