Personal profile

Mr Amit Kumar is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip and knee surgery. He is a specialist at managing arthritic conditions, and performs hip and knee replacements, along with knee arthroscopy for meniscal and cartilage conditions. Mr Kumar can also perform joint injections including steroid, platelet rich plasma and viscosupplementation (ostenil).

His sub-speciality interests include soft tissue lumps and bumps and the investigation of suspicious lumps, such as sarcoma.

Mr Kumar is the Director of Manchester Lumps Clinic - a lumps and bumps service offering a one-stop lump clinic with same day investigations to investigate any lumps on the limbs or trunk. He also runs a One Stop Knee Clinic. Other interests include bone lesions and metastatic bone disease.

Mr Kumar completed his medical degree at The Royal Free and University College London Medical School in 2003 and undertook early surgical training in the North West.
