About Mr Alex Swanton

Personal Profile

Mr Swanton is a Consultant Gynaecologist at The Royal Berkshire NHS Hospital Trust, specialising in Reproductive Medicine and Laparoscopic Surgery for benign conditions. Mr Swanton graduated from University College London in 1998 and trained in The Oxford Deanery.

In his primary role, he has held the position of Medical Lead for Gynaecology for five years, along with seven years as the Clinical Governance Lead. Mr Swanton has a busy surgical practice both in the NHS and independent sector.

Mr Swanton is a Director of TFP Thames Valley Fertility, a busy IVF clinic seeing both NHS and private patients. Mr Swanton earned a Doctorate of Medicine in 2010 and became Fellow of The Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists in 2015. He is involved in teaching and supervising medical students, Foundation Year Doctors and Specialist Gynaecology Trainees. His research and publications have been extensive and been awarded international recognition.

Mr Swanton is also an expert witness in Gynaecology and Reproductive Medicine, along with having expertise in medical report writing.
