Introducing Robotic-Assisted Knee Surgery with VELYSâ„¢ at Lancaster Private Hospital

Introducing Robotic-Assisted Knee Surgery with VELYS™ at Lancaster Private Hospital

At Lancaster Private Hospital, we offer robotic-assisted knee replacement surgery using the VELYS™ Robotic-Assisted Solution, an advanced technology designed to support precision and personalised care.

A knee replacement is a procedure to treat damaged or worn knee joints by replacing them with a carefully selected implant. Robotic-assisted technology helps your consultant perform this surgery with greater accuracy, tailored to your individual knee - while remaining fully consultant-led at every stage.

What is the VELYS™ Robotic-Assisted Solution?

VELYS™ is an advanced robotic-assisted system that supports your consultant during knee replacement surgery. It does not replace the surgeon. Instead, it provides real-time guidance to help achieve accurate implant positioning and consistent results, all while the consultant remains fully in control throughout the procedure.

How can robotic-assisted knee surgery help patients?

Robotic-assisted knee surgery may offer several potential benefits for suitable patients, including:

  • Greater surgical precision to support accurate implant placement
  • Potential for less post-operative pain
  • A smoother recovery and faster return to everyday activities
  • Reduced time spent in hospital
  • By supporting careful planning and precise execution, robotic-assisted technology helps consultants deliver high-quality, personalised knee replacement care

Consultant-Led Care You Can Trust

Your surgery at Lancaster Private Hospital is always led by an experienced consultant. Robotic technology is simply a tool that supports their expertise - all decisions are made by your consultant, who guides the procedure from start to finish.

If you’re considering knee replacement surgery or would like to learn more about robotic-assisted knee surgery at Lancaster Private Hospital, our team is here to help you understand your options and take the next step with confidence.
