With some of the regions most experienced gynaecologists under one roof, we are able to treat a broad range of patients and treat most major conditions related to gynaecology in women of all ages.

Our consultants have clinics throughout the week. Once your condition has been diagnosed, you will be referred to an appropriate consultant with a special interest and experience in that area.

Your initial appointment will usually run between 30-45 minutes, depending on your specific needs. When you first meet with your consultant, they will talk with you about the symptoms you have and how they are affecting you.

They may need to carry out a physical examination. This will always be explained to you, so that you know what to expect and why it’s being done. A chaperone will be available during your examination.

Sometimes, further test may be needed to help with diagnosis. These may include:

  • Blood test
  • Vaginal swab - to check for infection
  • A colposcopy – a special microscope (colposcope) is used to examine the cervix, vagina and vulva.
  • Diagnostic scans – most commonly ultrasound, but X-ray, MRI or CT are also sometimes required
  • Your medical history, the physical examination and any test results will be used to help diagnose the problem and to determine what the next step should be. Some problems may resolve themselves naturally, while others will benefit from medical intervention.

If treatment is needed, your consultant will talk you through suitable options so that you can make an informed choice. If you have any questions or concerns at any time, they will be very happy to discuss these with you.

If you have private medical insurance, then please make sure your contact your insurer before arranging your consultation. The service only see's women over the age of 18.
