Patients visiting Goring Hall Hospital can book an initial consultation with one of our expert Consultant urologists at a time that is convenient for them.   

During your consultation, your Consultant will discuss and assess your symptoms and take a brief medical history to get a thorough picture of the situation, note any concerns and determine the next appropriate steps.

Depending on your condition and the severity of your symptoms, your consultants may request for further tests to be carried out, such as blood tests or diagnostic tests. Simple tests such as blood tests or ultrasounds can be carried out the same day as your initial consultation, but specialised testing such as CT or MRI will usually be available within a few days.

On completion of your further tests (if needed), a follow-up consultation will need to be booked to discuss your results and from here your consultant will determine the correct treatment plan. If you require surgery, your consultant will discuss the process and make sure you understand the best treatment plan available to you.

Adult Circumcision 

A circumcision can be carried out for either religious reasons or for medical reasons.

When for medical reasons it can often be because the skin around the tip of the penis is tight and causing restriction when urinating or making it difficult to clean which can lead to infection.

The restriction can also make it uncomfortable for a man to have sex.

Cystoscopy 

A cystoscopy is a procedure that uses a thin instrument with a small camera on the end to investigate the bladder.

A cystoscopy may be recommended to investigate symptoms such as kidney stones, infection, tumours, polyps or cancer of the urethra or bladder.

Incontinence Treatment 

Urinary incontinence refers to the inability to control or stop the flow of urine.

It is a condition that can affect both men and women. Sometimes leakage can occur when we cough or laugh in more extreme cases there is a complete loss of bladder control.

Frequent urges to pass urine can also be a sign of incontinence.

Vasectomy 

A vasectomy procedure is carried out as part of male sterilisation when a man decides he would no longer like to have children and have sex without worrying about making his partner pregnant.

Should his circumstances change at a later stage a vasectomy reversal procedure can always be done to make it possible to have children once again.

Bladder Problems 

When the bladder empties muscles work to squeeze urine through the urethra. Some problems can cause pain.

The most common are urinary tract infections, cystitis and bladder cancer. You should initially consult your GP when suffering from any pain symptoms.

Prostate Assessment and Treatment 

Over time the prostate grows naturally without any problems. In some cases, this growth can impact the urethra and restrict the flow of urine.

This condition is known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
