At Goring Hall Hospital our experienced consultants are here to help with a variety of procedures.
Below you will find some of the most common procedures:
This is the removal of the appendix often for a condition called appendicitis where the appendix becomes inflamed or infected. The infection is caused by the appendix lining getting blocked.
Once infected the appendix can cause a great deal of discomfort and increases the chances of the appendix rupturing. A ruptured appendix is very dangerous as the infection may leak into other parts of the body.
This can be performed as either a keyhole surgery or as open surgery. Open surgery is normally performed in the case of a rupture and is considered an emergency.
There are a variety of benign skin lesions types, and they can appear anywhere on the body and in some cases restrict movement.
Skin lesions can be partially or fully removed and sent for analysis if there are any concerns. The removal is normally done as a day case.
Following the removal depending on the location of the lesion it may be recommended that the skin in the area isn’t stretched.
