The imaging department at Albyn Hospital has completed a £1.3million refurbishment programme which includes the creation of a new minor procedure room, new reception area, new changing rooms and new equipment.
Diagnostic ultrasound is a non-invasive imaging modality using high frequency sound waves to produce images of various soft tissue structures within the body. A wide range of high quality images can be produced of the following areas:
CT scanning is a sophisticated diagnostic tool which provides detailed images of various structures within the body. The CT scanner benefits from high resolution imaging capability producing excellent image quality, a large scanner diameter with fast scanning to help reduce the effects of claustrophobia, to assist with patient comfort and to improve the overall patient experience.
After the scan is completed, our expert radiologist will provide a medical report detailing the findings which allows the referrer to establish the most appropriate management or treatment.

Albyn Hospital runs weekly one-stop breast clinics for symptomatic patients. Patients are reviewed by a Consultant surgeon and receive all necessary tests and results in one place at one time. Providing a fast and efficient diagnosis, in a focused and caring environment.
Our private breast radiologists perform all examinations along with our mammographers who work cohesively with our private consultant breast surgeons and breast care nurses, ensuring you receive the highest standard of compassion and care.
To refer a patient for diagnostic imaging at Albyn Hospital, the referrer must be a GMC-registered doctor.

This is an annual requirement to entitle you or your practice to refer to Albyn Hospital Radiology. Once registered, you can refer directly using the email address above.
All referrals for diagnostic imaging should follow the Royal College of Radiologists' iRefer guidelines, which provide evidence-based recommendations to ensure patients receive the most appropriate imaging for their clinical presentation. Referrers are encouraged to consult iRefer when selecting the appropriate modality and to include relevant clinical information to support the request.

We accept mammography referrals for asymptomatic patients aged 40 and over, for screening purposes. Screening mammography is available annually but those under the age of 50 must complete a consent form which can be obtained by contacting [email protected].
