Mr William Ryan is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Beaumont Hospital in Bolton.
He is also an honorary Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at The Royal Bolton Hospital. He was appointed in 1997 and has wide experience in all aspects of trauma and orthopaedic surgery. His practice now concentrates on surgery of the knee.
He qualified from The University of Manchester in 1986 and trained in the North West. He has visited many knee units in the UK, Europe and the USA and has been awarded a Doctorate (MD) for work into anterior cruciate ligament injury.
He is actively involved in research, audit, training and medical education and runs courses training junior surgeons in the techniques of knee surgery.
He is an examiner for the Intercollegiate Specialty Board in the specialist Fellowship of The Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) (Tr & Orth) examination.
