Personal profile
He qualified from the University of Manchester in 1986 and trained in the North West. He has visited many knee units in the UK, Europe and the USA and has been awarded a Doctorate (MD) for work into anterior cruciate ligament injury.
He is actively involved in research, audit, training and medical education, and organises and leads courses training junior surgeons in the techniques of knee surgery.
He is an examiner for the Intercollegiate Specialty Board in the specialist FRCS (Tr & Orth) examination and a member of: The British Association for Surgery of the Knee (BASK), The British Orthopaedic Association (BOA), and The British Medical Association (BMA).
He is a senior board member on the UK/ROI national examination committee for the Royal Colleges of Surgeons (JCIE).
