Personal Profile

Professor Vikas Malik is an experienced ENT Consultant at Beaumont Hospital in Bolton, with a broad experience of managing ENT problems.

He graduated from King George Medical University in Lucknow, India and completed a Master’s degree in ENT. He was awarded the 'Best Candidate' award. He then undertook a further 3 years training as a Senior Registrar in Otology and Skull Base Surgery. He moved to the UK in 2003 and completed the 'UK ENT' training in North West England and Cambridge. He was awarded the Certificate of Completion of Training by the UK Joint Committee on Higher Surgical Training.

Professor Malik is on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register and is a GMC-recognised trainer. He takes time to explain things properly to patients and answers all of their queries and concerns. He works closely with his patients to formulate a personalised treatment plan and believes in providing safe and high-quality patient care.

He was awarded a bronze badge for improving the quality of patient care and declared 'Quality Champion' in the Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh NHS Foundation Trust. He was nominated by patients for the prestigious ‘Blackpool Gazette’s Patients Award’ for providing excellent care. He is passionate about medical undergraduate and post-graduate education and training, and has been awarded the  'Certificate of Excellence in Education' by the North West School of Surgery.

He is a member of the ENT Surgical Training Committee at Health Education North West and the 'Trust Lead' for Simulation at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust.

Professor Malik is Honorary Professor at the Institute of Medicine at The University of Bolton as well as Departmental Lead for Clinical Governance, Research, Audits and Education. He has keen interest in research and has published widely and presented in several national and international conferences.
