Dr Vaishali Shetty has established herself as a cornerstone of healthcare provision in the local community, with a wealth of experience and dedication to patient care. Dr.Shetty completed her medical education at Mysore University, India and then  worked as a Physician at Apollo hospitals, Chennai in India followed by GPVTS training in Croydon GP training programme. Dr. Shetty is multi-linguistic with fluency in 8 languages and brings a global perspective to her practice, enriching the care she provides to her patients at Birdhurst Medical Practice, South Croydon.

With over a decade of experience as a GP Principal, Dr. Shetty has demonstrated exemplary leadership and management skills. She has led her practice to collaborate effectively with the Primary Care Network (PCN) team, facilitating the delivery of holistic care to a diverse patient population. Dr. Shetty's proactive approach has resulted in positive patient feedback and the attainment of high QOF targets, showcasing her commitment to excellence in healthcare delivery.

Dr. Shetty's clinical expertise spans a wide range of areas, including chronic disease management, mental health care, and end-of-life support. She is adept at providing specialised services such as implant insertion, hormone replacement therapy, and contraception counselling, further enhancing the comprehensive care offered at her practice.

Beyond her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Shetty is deeply engaged in medical education and professional development. As a GP Trainer for GPVTS trainees and an Educational Supervisor, she plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of general practice. Additionally, her involvement as an Appraiser for the South West London appraisal team underscores her commitment to maintaining high standards of practice within the medical community.

Dr. Shetty's leadership extends beyond her practice, as evidenced by her roles as a Non-executive Director for the Croydon GP Collaborative and Vice-chair of the Croydon LMC. She actively contributes to shaping primary care in the region, advocating for the recruitment and retention of GPs and championing initiatives to improve quality of care.

In addition to her professional endeavours, Dr. Shetty nurtures a rich and diverse set of interests outside of medicine. She finds solace in nature through long walks, appreciates the beauty of classical music, and enjoys exploring new cuisines through cooking. Dr. Shetty's multifaceted approach to life reflects her passion for embracing new experiences and fostering holistic well-being, both for herself and her patients.
