About Mr Tyrone Thomas Carpenter

Personal Profile

Mr Tyrone Carpenter graduated from St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London in 1994,and undertook his post-graduate training in London, Bristol and the Wessex Region. In addition he has worked in Australia and undertaken a two year fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery in Guildford, one of the UK’s leading centres in laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery.

During this time Mr Carpenter developed an expertise in advanced laparoscopic surgery and has performed a large number of such cases. Procedures undertaken included laparoscopic hysterectomy, laparoscopic myomectomy, laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy, laparoscopic adhesiolysis as well as laparoscopic treatment of all stages of endometriosis.

He has a medical doctorate for his research into endometriosis, and has also presented and published research into laparoscopic hysterectomy, ectopic pregnancy, fibroid embolisation and transcervical resection of the endometrium.

Mr Carpenter is the lead of the Dorset Endometriosis Centre. He undertakes over 90% of his surgery laparoscopically or hysteroscopically (excluding uterine evacuations).
