Mr Tarun Singhal is a Consultant Colorectal and Laparoscopic Surgeon at Chelsfield Hospital in Orpington, Kent, The Sloane Hospital in Beckenham, Kent and at Blackheath Hospital.

His NHS practice is based at the Princess Royal University Hospital, Farnborough (King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust).

Mr Singhal qualified in 1995 and completed his Masters in Surgery in 2001. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) of England and Edinburgh.

He has completed a Fellowship in laparoscopic colorectal surgery, peritoneal malignancy, low rectal surgery, and multivisceral resections from Basingstoke.

Mr Singhal has completed a Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic and Robotic Colorectal Surgery from Portsmouth.

He has keen interest in teaching and training and completed PGCert in Managing Medical Careers (KSS Deanery and Brighton & Sussex Medical School).

He is a faculty member of various courses including at the Royal College of Surgeons of England for Core Skills in Laparoscopic Surgery and Care of critically ill surgical patients. He regularly teaches and supervises surgical trainees on planned and emergency laparoscopic colorectal surgery and endoscopic procedures.

Clinical Interests

He has more than 20 years of experience in surgery including:

  • Advanced keyhole or laparoscopic surgery for Colon Cancers
  • Laparoscopic surgery for inflammatory bowel diseases like Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis
  • Complex Hernias and Haemorrhoids

He also undertakes routine general surgery such as pilonidal disease, banding and THD for haemorrhoids, fistulas, anal fissures, removal of benign skin lumps, and hernia repairs performed as day cases, and gastrointestinal investigations such as gastroscopy, colonoscopy and removal of polyps.
