Personal Profile

Dr. Kumar is a general paediatrician with around 35 years’ experience in child health and paediatrics. His main interests are general childhood problems like asthma, allergy, respiratory and gastrointestinal problems. He sees children from birth to up to 17 years of age (i.e. up to 18th birthday).Following his medical qualification in 1990 at University of Madras, India he obtained post graduate qualification in Paediatrics at University of Pune in 1993 before moving to UK in 1995. He worked in various NHS trusts in UK in the specialities like general paediatrics, neonatology, respiratory and allergy specialities. He has been working as consultant paediatrician at Darent Valley Hospital Dartford Kent since 2009. His other special interests are in haematological problems sickle cell disease and Thalassemia in children. He completed post graduate certificate course in Allergy and Asthma from University of Southampton in 2001.
