Dr. Sujata Khambekar is a practicing Consultant Cardiologist at University Hospital Dorset NHS Foundation Trust. She graduated from the esteemed Kind Edward Memorial Hospital and Seth GS Medical College in Mumbai. She holds a postgraduate degree in Medicine and a specialist training certificate in Cardiology from the UK.
She has completed a Cardiac Imaging fellowship at South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust and is accredited in complex echocardiography and cardiac MRI scanning.
She is also trained in Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) from Southampton General Hospital, does ACHD clinics in Poole Hospital, and is a Dorset lead for ACHD.
She has also run the rapid access heart failure clinic in Poole Hospital for the last 8 years, supports research projects at the Hospital, and has been PI for various research studies.
She is actively involved in teaching and training medical students and postgraduate medical doctors in training.
Dr. Khambekar specialises in cardiac imaging (Transthoracic echocardiography, Transoesophageal echocardiography, cardiac MRI, and stress echocardiography), heart failure, atrial fibrillation and has an interest in the management of adult congenital heart disease.
