Mr Shobhit Verma is a highly specialized paediatric orthopaedic consultant who provides exclusive paediatric orthopaedic services to North and West London plus the surrounding counties of Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, and Buckinghamshire. He is currently the Clinical Lead in Orthopaedic Surgery at Luton and Dunstable hospital. His NHS Practice is based at the Bedfordshire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
He qualified as an Orthopaedic Surgeon in 1998 from India and pursued advanced training in paediatric/adult sports injuries and trauma, complex orthopaedic trauma with deformity correction at various tertiary referral centres across the UK, India, and Australia. He has completed advanced fellowships from centres of excellence including The Alfred in Melbourne and Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide, Australia. He has speciality fellowships in Paediatric Orthopaedics and Trauma from Birmingham Children’s Hospital and King’s College, London.
His practice includes all routine, simple and complex paediatric conditions affecting lower limbs including hip, knees, foot and ankle. He specializes in paediatric and young adult fractures, sports injuries, trauma, paediatric limb deformities and gait disorders. He has had the opportunity to work with professional footballers, rugby, cricket, and Paralympic athletes. This experience and expertise are applied to all his patients regardless of their background and level.
Mr Verma believes in MDT practice. He always involves parents and children in clinical decision-making. He works as part of a fantastic multidisciplinary team, which includes radiologists, physiotherapists, sports coaches, occupational therapist and pain clinicians who together create bespoke treatment plans for every patient according to individual needs.
He is also a postgraduate teacher and an invited faculty in various FRCS teaching courses across hospitals in London including King’s College and Imperial College. He is actively involved in various national research projects in the UK and has number of publications in peer-reviewed journals including the BJJ and EFORT. He has presented his work in national and international meetings including BOA, EFORT and SICOT.
