About Mr Shalom Srirangam

Personal Profile

Mr Shalom Srirangam is a highly experienced Consultant Urological Surgeon with over twenty‑five years of clinical expertise and a long‑established reputation for delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred urological care. He provides comprehensive assessment and treatment for a broad range of conditions, including kidney stone disease, prostate enlargement, urinary tract symptoms and general urology, offering modern techniques and a calm, reassuring approach for every patient.

He graduated from the University of Manchester in 1997 with his medical degree (MBChB) before embarking on his basic surgical training throughout the North West of England. During this early stage of his career, he gained wide‑ranging surgical experience and achieved membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS) in 2001. His growing interest in urology led him to pursue specialist training within the Manchester urology rotation from 2003 to 2008, a programme known for its breadth of clinical exposure and strong surgical focus. Here, he developed advanced knowledge across all aspects of urological practice, ranging from diagnostic pathways to minimally invasive surgical procedures.

In 2008, Mr Srirangam undertook a highly regarded European School of Urology Fellowship in Endourology and Stone Disease at University Hospital Leuven in Belgium. This specialist training refined his skills in the management of complex kidney stones, including the use of laser techniques and minimally invasive endoscopic surgery. The fellowship strengthened his expertise in stone disease and positioned him at the forefront of modern endourological practice.

Since January 2009, he has worked as a Consultant Urological Surgeon at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, where he contributes to clinical leadership, service development and the training of future urologists. His commitment to excellence is reflected in his clear communication style, evidence‑based decision‑making and the personalised care he provides throughout each patient’s treatment journey.

Mr Srirangam combines extensive UK and international training with a compassionate, patient‑focused philosophy, ensuring that individuals receive safe, effective and thoroughly supported care from their first consultation through to recovery.
