About Dr Roshan Agarwal
Personal Profile
Dr Agarwal is a Consultant Medical Oncologist specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of cancers, including gastrointestinal, gynaecological, and neuroendocrine tumours.
He trained at the Royal Marsden Hospital and the Institute of Cancer Research in London, where he completed a PhD. During this time, he also worked in Phase 1 clinical trials and novel drug development, at one of the world’s largest early-phase clinical trials units.

Following this, Dr Agarwal undertook a post-doctoral fellowship at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in the USA (2007–2009) before returning to the UK. He later joined Imperial College London as a Consultant Medical Oncologist and Clinical Senior Lecturer at Hammersmith Hospital. In 2013, he moved to Northampton General Hospital, where he is the lead for Oncology research, and lead Medical Oncologist in gastrointestinal cancers, gynaecological cancers and neuroendocrine tumours.
Alongside his NHS role, Dr Agarwal sees private and insured patients at Three Shires Hospital in Northampton, offering access to specialist cancer care in a dedicated private setting.
