He is one of the highest-performing minimally invasive hip and knee replacement surgeons in the North West, with very high success rates – performing over 400 primary joint replacement procedures a year and 50 hip and knee revision surgeries. Mr Gudena pioneered in using 3D technology in Orthopaedics and performed highest number of 3D printed ConforMIS knee replacements and customised hip replacements. He uses the latest techniques including n-Stride injections and other stem cell injections to prevent arthritis. Mr Gudena is one of the very few surgeons in the region who can perform hip arthroscopy to treat hip impingement.
Mr Gudena graduated in 2001 and received Fellow of Royal Colleges Award in 2010. He Completed Fellowship in Canada and visited centres across Canada and United States of America to enhance his clinical and academic experience. He has a strong academic background and has published extensively in his specialty of interest.
He uses latest techniques in treating the hip and knee problems including minimally invasive hip and knee replacements, patient specific knee replacements (TruMatch) ConforMIS 3D printed customised knee replacement and PRP (platelet rich plasma) injections for chronic tendon, bursa problems.
He is one of the first few surgeons in UK and the first Surgeon in North West to do 3D printed customised ConforMIS Knee replacement, which gives excellent results.
He is the clinical lead for the joint replacement surgery and National Joint registry at his NHS Trust and BOA Champion for joint replacements.
