About Mr PJS (Chan) Jeer

Personal Profile

Mr. Chan Jeer was born in the United Kingdom. His medical undergraduate training took place at King’s College Hospital, London, where he qualified in 1993. His postgraduate surgical training was on the South East Thames Orthopaedic Rotation, and he had the opportunity to work with world renowned orthopaedic surgeons in the South East.

Upon completion of his orthopaedic training, he undertook a year of specialist surgical fellowship training in lower limb orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine/arthroscopic surgery in Adelaide at Sportsmed in Australia. He worked with some of the leading arthroplasty and sports medicine surgeons in Australia to hone his complex arthroscopic and arthroplasty skills, learning advanced techniques in computer navigated surgery, minimally invasive surgery, rapid recovery, and state of the art management of sports injured professionals.

Mr. Jeer was subsequently appointed as a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at East Kent Hospitals where he worked from 2005 until 2016. His contribution to the practices within that hospital earned him three clinical excellence points. He developed a lower limb service that produced high volume surgery with minimal complications.

From 2017, Mr. Jeer has been working purely as a knee surgeon in the independent sector and for all qualified providers for N.H.S. patients using the e-Referral service. Mr. Jeer uses the latest technology and diagnostic investigation. He has a team of specialist radiologists. He specialises in arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery to treat many knee conditions including meniscal tears, loose bodies.

He performs arthroscopic A.C.L. reconstruction using hamstrings and allograft tendons, with rapid recovery and rapid rehabilitation techniques. He is an expert in all forms of knee soft tissue and joint replacement work. He performs knee replacements using tried and tested prostheses with excellent long term results. He has had appropriate training in and significant experience in the use of computer navigation and custom sized implants.

Mr. Jeer is an enthusiastic member of a multi-disciplinary team. He has an approachable and friendly P.A., a dedicated specialist team of radiologists, anaesthetists, physiotherapists and occupational therapists. He prides himself on producing consistently good results, he is a high volume surgeon, and one of the highest volume knee replacement providers in the United Kingdom. He is passionate about patient-centred care.
