About Dr Piers Clifford

Personal Profile

Dr Clifford qualified with a first class honours degree from St John’s College, Oxford and completed his clinical training at St Mary’s Hospital. His registrar training in Cardiology was predominantly at the Hammersmith Hospital and he was made a consultant cardiologist at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust in 1999. He is now the SDU lead for cardiology. He performs regular face to face and remote out-patient consultations for both NHS and Private patients. He also is an interventional cardiologist performing pacemakers, angiograms, angioplasty (including primary angioplasty for heart attacks) at both Wycombe and Hammersmith Hospitals. He has an active research programme, mostly conducting clinical trials for the NIHR. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London.

He has developed digital applications for the delivery of cardiac rehabilitation and heart failure care and has multiple publications in peer reviewed journals both as a researcher and a Principal Investigator.
