Mr Patrick Lintott is a highly experienced Consultant Vascular Surgeon with a main clinical practice based at The Chiltern Hospital in Buckinghamshire and The Shelburne Hospital, alongside services across Great Missenden, Oxford and High Wycombe. He provides specialist assessment, diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of vascular conditions, offering both outpatient consultations and advanced surgical care.
His areas of expertise cover the full spectrum of vascular surgery, including the management of varicose veins, aortic aneurysms, carotid artery disease, carotid body tumours, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and peripheral vascular disease. Mr Lintott is committed to delivering evidence-based, patient-centred care, with a strong focus on accurate diagnosis, minimally invasive techniques where appropriate, and achieving the best possible long-term outcomes for his patients.
Mr Lintott graduated in Medicine from the University of Birmingham in 1991. Following his medical qualification, he undertook his basic surgical training and research at St Mary’s Hospital in London, where he developed a strong foundation in vascular and general surgical principles. He then progressed to higher surgical training within the Oxford Deanery, one of the UK’s leading training regions for surgical specialties. During this period, he achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons, reflecting his advanced surgical expertise and professional standing.
Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Lintott has maintained a strong academic and research interest throughout his career. His research has focused on the familial patterns of abdominal aortic aneurysms, recurrence rates of varicose veins following treatment, and the prevention and management of post-operative infections. This commitment to research ensures that his clinical practice remains informed by the latest evidence and developments in vascular surgery.
Mr Lintott is an active member of the Vascular Society of Great Britain and Ireland (VSGBI), contributing to the wider vascular surgical community and staying closely involved with national standards and advancements in care. He is also the current Head of the Oxford Postgraduate School of Surgery, where he plays a key role in training and mentoring the next generation of surgeons.
