Dr Babu qualified from Madras University, India in 1991. Further to his post-graduation in General Medicine in India, he trained comprehensively in General Medicine, Gastroenterology and Hepatology in Yorkshire. He has since been a full time Consultant in Gastroenterology from 2003, moving to Lincoln in 2012 from Scarborough.
Dr Babu is a Consultant at Lincoln County Hospital as well as running a private practice from Lincoln Private Hospital. He has a keen interest in education and has held posts as Royal College Tutor, Foundation Training Programme Director, Lead for Upper GI Cancer and Service Lead for Medicine and Endoscopy.
Dr Babu treats patients with symptoms relating to Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Pancreas, IBS and Nutrition. He has a special interest in Liver disease, Hepatobiliary Medicine and Gastrointestinal cancers. He is a core member of the Upper Gastrointestinal and Hepatobiliary multidisciplinary meeting in Lincoln. Dr Babu also sees patients presenting with general medical problems.
Dr Babu is an expert in diagnostic and therapeutic Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy, Polypectomy alongside ERCP and Capsule Endoscopy. Dr Babu promotes and practices timely, effective and evidence based care for patients in the right setting.
