He successfully obtained a Scholarship at Oxford university to complete a Masters in the science behind Musculoskeletal disorders.
Paddy completed his higher specialist orthopaedic training in the London UCL rotation and gained a valuable broad experience working in a combination of tertiary specialist, district general and teaching hospitals. After obtaining his certificate for completion of training without any gaps, he completed his subspeciality experience in the highly sought after Bournemouth Fellowship.
Paddy aims for a high-volume clinical practice with standardisation of techniques with individualised treatment plans tailored to the needs of his patients. On the elective side: The majority of Paddy’s practice is on treating arthritis around the hip and the knee.
He has a special interest in developing day-case arthroplasty (going home the same day after a hip or knee replacement) through enhanced recovery programmes.
He likes his patients to progress with early mobilisation and tries to optimise his patients outcomes through improved multi-disciplinary-team centred pathways. He also offers partial knee replacements for those patients who are suitable and want to avoid have a total knee replacement.
On the emergency (trauma) side: Paddy has a special interest in managing complex upper and lower limb injuries and fractures.
He has lectured on invited courses and is an enthusiastic trainer.
He is also widely published including publishing one of the most read BMJ articles which featured a tongue-in-cheek research paper in the Christmas edition.
