About Mr Omar Yanni

Personal Profile

I began my medical journey at Guy's Hospital, where I qualified in 1989. My initial training in Orthopaedic Surgery involved esteemed institutions such as Guy's, the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, and the Guy's and St Thomas's Higher Surgical Training scheme. To further specialize, I completed a Fellowship in Spinal Surgery in Ireland.

Over the last 19 years, I've honed my expertise in Degenerative Spine conditions, while also maintaining proficiency in lower limb arthroplasty and trauma care. My career has been marked by a commitment to advancing my skills and knowledge in these areas.

For the past five years, I have led the Trauma and Orthopaedic department in East Kent. In this role, I have collaborated with NHS England to spearhead regional changes across Kent and Medway. This leadership position has allowed me to influence the direction and quality of orthopaedic care in the region.

Currently, I serve as a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics at Chaucer Hospital. Additionally, I contribute my expertise at The William Harvey Hospital in Ashford. These roles enable me to apply my skills in both clinical and strategic capacities.

Outside of medicine, I am passionate about cycling and have organized annual trips across the Alps for the past decade. This hobby not only challenges me physically but also provides a wonderful opportunity to explore and appreciate nature. In addition to cycling, I enjoy playing competitive chess, a pastime that sharpens my strategic thinking.
