About Dr Nick Maisey

Personal Profile

Dr Nick Maisey is a member of Independent Oncology, a team of medical specialists offering a complete Cancer Care service for patients within the private healthcare sector.

He qualified from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in 1993 and was awarded his FRCP in 2008.

He completed his specialist training in medical oncology at the Royal Marsden Hospital. During his specialist training he was successful in receiving a grant from the National Cancer Institute to perform research at the Institute of Cancer Research, London.

In 2002 he was awarded an MD thesis for his work on early response markers in lymphoma. He has published several peer review papers and presented at a number of national and international meetings.

Dr Maisey is a consultant in medical oncology at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Trust. He is currently the medical director for the South-East London Cancer Network and vice-chair for the upper GI Tumour Working Group.

His clinical interests include the systemic treatment of gastrointestinal cancers, including oesophageal cancer, gastric cancer, gastro-intestinal stromal tumours, small bowel malignancies, colorectal cancer and carcinoma of unknown primary.
