Personal Profile

Nick Sharer is a Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist based at Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Appointed in 1996 at Poole, his busy practice caters for all types of liver disease, nutrition and cancers affecting the liver, pancreas, oesophagus and stomach. He has responsibility for training in endoscopy and is lead clinician for health related alcohol problems. He gained training in his specialist areas of interest in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and central Manchester Teaching Hospitals. He was awarded his Doctorate for his thesis in Pancreatitis by Southampton University in 2003.

As a General Physician he also commonly manages a range of conditions commonly affecting the heart, lungs, endocrine (glands) and nervous system.
