Mr Anabtawi is on the General Medical Council specialist register for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, and the General Dental Council specialist register for Oral Surgery. He works with the specialist multi-disciplinary teams in head and neck oncology, and provides services across head and neck oncology, head and neck skin lesions, trauma, facial plastic surgery, salivary glands, TMJ, general and oral surgical conditions.
He completed both his medical and dental degrees at The University of Jordan. He undertook part of his basic surgical and higher surgical training in a major tertiary hospital in Jordan, and worked for a few years as a Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon in the Middle East, where he gained a lot of experience in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, surgical and non-surgical facial aesthetics, and dental implantology, before moving to the UK where he finished his General Medical Council approved higher surgical training in the East Midlands.
He worked as a locum Consultant at Cornwall Royal Hospital and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, and in 2021 was appointed as a Consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Head and Neck Surgical Oncology and Reconstruction Surgery at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, and a visiting Consultant at Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust.
Teaching and Training
Mr Anabtawi has an international reputation in facial cosmetics and treating facial conditions. He regularly runs courses both nationally and internationally teaching other health professionals on surgical and non-surgical facial cosmetics and dental implantology.
He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds, Faculty of Medicine and Health, and is regularly involved in teaching and mentoring post-graduate surgical trainees and teaching undergraduate students.
Research and Publications
Mr Anabtawi has published widely within oral & maxillofacial surgery literature throughout his career, and presented his work at various national and international meetings and conferences. He is actively involved in teaching at undergraduate and post-graduate level, and tries his best to inspire the next generation of oral & maxillofacial surgeons.
He is known to provide a high-quality of care towards his patients. The care he provides is patient-centred with an open, honest approach providing a personalised treatment plan for the best possible outcome.
